Why Athens:
Modern Athens is a major European city, vibrant and safe, the city with
the most glorious history in the world, worshipped by gods and people.
The Acropolis is one of the world’s most famous landmarks and Greece’s
history and culture, combined with the nightlife, a wonderful climate,
traditional cuisine and renowned Greek hospitality are just some of the
countless attractions Athens has to offer. They provide a unique
opportunity for those visiting the cradle of the Concept of democracy,
an experience you will never forget. The city underwent an enormous
facelift for the 2004 Olympic Games and the return of the Games to their
birthplace was a great success.
Tatoi airfield (LGTT) hosts all Athens aero clubs and their flight schools. It is located 15 Km from downtown Athens, three minutes from the trunk highway network. There is a direct rail link to the Athens subway. The airfield offers covered exhibition space, 35.000 sqm apron, plenty of hard-static display area and can accommodate a vast number of private aircrafts. The 5,800 ft asphalt runway is sufficient for up to business jet level aircrafts. Flight demonstrations will be easy to accomplish. Facilities on the airfield include conference room, press centre and car parking. Catering will also be available throughout the show. A large number of fine hotels are located in a 20 minutes distance from the airport. Permission to land and freely visit Tatoi airfield for 10 days (6-16 June 2008) and no handling charges in all Greek airports during the month of June - sponsored by Olympic Airways Services - guarantee a great number of visitors and incoming aircrafts.
